Planning manipulation movements of a dual-arm system considering obstacle removing
نویسندگان
چکیده
The paper deals with the problem of planning movements of two hand-arm robotic systems, considering the possibility of using the robot hands to remove potential obstacles in order to obtain a free access to grasp a desired object. The approach is based on a variation of a Probabilistic Road Map that does not rule out the samples implying collisions with removable objects but instead classifies them according to the collided obstacle(s), and allows the search of free paths with the indication of which objects must be removed from the work-space to make the path actually valid, we call it Probabilistic Road Map with Obstacles (PRMwO). The proposed system includes a task assignment system that distributes the task among the robots, using for that purpose a precedence graph built from the results of the PRMwO. The approach has been implemented for a real dualarm robotic system, and some simulated and real running examples are presented in the paper. Keyword: Motion planning, Grasping, Dual-arm, Manipulation.

Designing Path for Robot Arm Extensions Series with the Aim of Avoiding Obstruction with Recurring Neural Network
In this paper, recurrent neural network is used for path planning in the joint space of the robot with obstacle in the workspace of the robot. To design the neural network, first a performance index has been defined as sum of square of error tracking of final executor. Then, obstacle avoidance scheme is presented based on its space coordinate and its minimum distance between the obstacle and ea...
متن کاملObstacle avoidance and a perturbation sensitivity model for motor planning.
A novel obstacle avoidance paradigm was used to investigate the planning of human reaching movements. We explored whether the CNS plans arm movements based entirely on the visual space kinematics of the movements, or whether the planning process incorporates specific details of the biomechanical plant to optimize the trajectory plan. Participants reached around an obstacle, the tip of which rem...
متن کاملReactionless Path Planning Strategies for Capture of Tumbling Objects in Space Using a Dual-Arm Robotic System
This paper presents strategies for point-to-point reactionless manipulation of a satellite mounted dual-arm robotic system for capture of tumbling orbiting objects, such as out-ofcommission satellites and space debris. Use of the dual-arm robot could be more effective than the single arm when there is no provision for a grapple fixture or the object is tumbling. The dual arms can also provide d...
متن کاملTheory and Implementation of Dual-Arm Manipulation Planning
In this paper, we study theory and implementation issues of dual-arm manipulation planning. We mainly discuss on three topics: (1) static geometrical approach on planning the position/orientation an object placed at the designated part on the environment, (2) pick-and-place planning of a dualarm manipulator where the planner automatically determines whether both arms have to be used simultaneou...
متن کاملBio-Inspired Planning and Reaching in Complex Environments
One of the hallmarks of human reaching behavior is the ability to think and generate plans for movements in complex environments. In this paper we model planning to reach for targets in space using a self-organized process of mental rehearsals of movements, and simulate the process using a redundant robot arm that is capable of learning to reach for targets in space while avoiding obstacles. Th...
